About
Founded in 2026, Grand River Live Model Horse Show is Wellington County’s first live model horse show, held in the historic and picturesque community of Elora, Ontario. As a sanctioned show within Region 11 of the North American Model Horse Shows Association (NAMHSA), Grand River Live is proud to be part of the continent’s leading model horse show network. Our mission is to promote and grow the model horse hobby across Eastern Canada by providing a first-class show experience that celebrates artistry, craftsmanship, and equestrian knowledge. Whether you are an experienced shower, collector, artist, or newcomer to the hobby, Grand River Live offers a welcoming environment where excellence, sportsmanship, and community come together.

Why Grand River?
The show takes its name from the Grand River, the longest river located entirely within Southern Ontario. Flowing through the heart of Elora, the river has played a significant role in the region's development for centuries, supporting agriculture, industry, transportation, and recreation.

Grand River Live is held at Grand River Raceway, one of Ontario’s many Standardbred tracks, situated along the banks of the river from which both the raceway and the show take their name. As a result, Grand River Live reflects not only the show's location but also its connection to a region with a long-standing equestrian and agricultural tradition.
The name was chosen to firmly root the show in Wellington County while highlighting one of the area's most recognizable natural landmarks.
Why Elora?
Elora is a town that has been shaped by the equestrian community, with Grand River Raceway just on the outskirts, and the annual Horse & Hound Parade held annually by Eglington Caledon Hounds. Elora is the perfect place for a model horse show!
